ALWAYS LIVE is set to bring its Victorian Vibes series to the coastal town of Lorne on 2 May, following a strong opening event in Ballarat that drew thousands of visitors and transformed the city centre into a live music hub.
The free regional series launched last weekend under sunny conditions, with crowds moving through Ballarat’s CBD to catch a lineup of surprise performances. Artists including Dan Sultan, Blusher, Hope D and local act Apples delivered sets across multiple locations, setting the tone for the statewide tour.
ALWAYS LIVE CEO Psyche Payne said: “Ballarat was the perfect opener to our series – the energy from the crowd, the performances from Dan Sultan, Blusher, Hope D and local talent Apples, and the way the whole city came alive around the music was exactly what Victorian Vibes is all about. Lorne is a town with music in its soul, and we can’t wait to bring that same spontaneous, community spirit to the surf coast in a few weeks time.”
The next stop will see Lorne host a day of pop-up performances staged in unexpected locations throughout the town. As with previous events, the artist lineup will be revealed in the lead-up via ALWAYS LIVE’s digital channels, with registered attendees receiving performance times and locations closer to the day.
Located along the Great Ocean Road, Lorne’s reputation as a live music destination and its close-knit layout are expected to help create another immersive, town-wide experience. Local hospitality venues are also set to play a key role, contributing to the event’s atmosphere.
Victorian Vibes will continue every second weekend through to mid-June, with upcoming stops across Gippsland, the Bellarine, Goldfields, Murray and Geelong regions.
Supported by the Victorian Government through Visit Victoria, the series is part of a broader effort to support live music and connect audiences with artists across regional Victoria.
