A new private events venue has opened in the heart of Melbourne, with Radio Nacional now taking bookings inside Hotel Nacional. Tucked within the well-known laneway, the space adds a new layer to one of the city’s busiest hospitality strips.
Located along Hardware Lane, Radio Nacional has been designed as a flexible venue suited to a range of occasions, from brand launches and birthday celebrations to wedding after-parties and music-led events. The opening builds on the success of Hotel Nacional, a multi-level Mexican-inspired venue that has built a strong following in recent years.

Inside, the venue leans into a darker, more intimate atmosphere. Custom furniture, low lighting and textured finishes create a sense of separation from the laneway outside, while still keeping the energy of the precinct. A full professional sound setup including a Void Acoustics system, CDJs, mixer and turntables positions the space for music-focused events.

Guests have access to a private bar with a focus on agave spirits, along with dedicated amenities and soundproofed interiors. The venue can host up to 100 people for standing events or smaller groups of around 30 in a more seated format. Food and drink packages are also available, with roaming canapés designed to suit different event styles.
“Our vision was to create something truly unique — a space that feels like a secret speakeasy lounge, but with the amenities and polish of a high-end event room,” said Taylor Granchi, one of the creators behind Hotel Nacional.

“It’s a blank canvas room with a serious personality, designed to suit a multitude of occasions and celebrations.” Writes co-owner Alex Greco. “We’re not open every night, just the nights worth remembering.”
