New designs have been revealed for a rebuilt Seaford Station, giving locals an early glimpse at the major transformation coming to Melbourne’s Frankston Line.
The project will remove the level crossings at Armstrongs Road and Station Street, two busy intersections currently used by more than 5,000 vehicles every day. Once complete, drivers are expected to save more than 30 minutes in boom gate delays during each morning peak.
The upgraded Seaford Station will be elevated above the rail line and is now scheduled to open in 2028, a year ahead of schedule.

Plans for the new station include lifts, stairs and entrances at both ends of the platform to improve accessibility and make it easier for passengers to move around the area.
Large sections of open public space will also be created beneath the new rail bridges and station, with landscaped community areas, improved lighting and better pedestrian connections through the precinct.
Walking and cycling access is also set for an upgrade, with new links planned to connect directly into the Kananook Creek Trail.
The design draws inspiration from Seaford’s coastal surroundings, with planners incorporating feedback gathered from the local community throughout the early stages of the project.

Safety improvements are also a major focus, with better sightlines and stronger connections planned between Station Street, nearby shops and local community facilities.
Importantly for locals, both the Seaford RSL and Seaford Scouts will remain open throughout construction works.
Construction is expected to begin next year, with the dangerous crossings permanently removed and the new station operational by 2028.
