Australian music icons The Church are heading back on the road in 2026, but fans can expect something far beyond a standard greatest hits tour.
The band has unveiled A Psychedelic Symphony Tour, a new live experience that sees them joined by a 30-piece symphony orchestra conducted by acclaimed composer and conductor George Ellis.
Together, they’ll rework some of the group’s most beloved tracks with full orchestral arrangements, giving classics like ‘Under the Milky Way’, ‘The Unguarded Moment’, ‘Metropolis’, ‘Reptile’ and ‘Almost With You’ a fresh cinematic sound.
Described as “The Church in ultra luxe mode”, the upcoming shows promise lush strings, soaring arrangements and the dreamy guitar work that has defined the band’s sound for more than four decades.
Victorian fans can catch the orchestra-backed performance at Hamer Hall on Friday 20 November, followed by a Geelong show at Costa Hall the next night.
Formed in Sydney’s underground music scene in the early 1980s, The Church have become one of Australia’s most enduring and influential bands. Across a 45-year career, they’ve released more than 25 studio albums, earned an ARIA Award and built a catalogue that continues to resonate with generations of fans.
With orchestral reinterpretations of their biggest songs set to take centre stage, tickets are expected to move quickly once sales begin.
Pre-sale starts from 12pm AEST on Wednesday 13 May, while general public tickets go on sale from 12pm AEST on Friday 15 May.
