Warehouses, workshops and factory spaces across Dromana are set to swap forklifts for guitars this June as the second Peninsula LIVE micro-festival turns the Dromana Industrial Estate into a buzzing live music precinct.
Running from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 June, Dromana Weekender will bring more than 30 bands to over 10 venues across the estate, creating four days of free live music, pop-up activations and community events in one of the Mornington Peninsula’s most unexpected festival settings.
Following the success of Pretty Snazz in the Nazz in Balnarring earlier this year, the new event aims to spotlight local musicians while encouraging visitors to experience the industrial precinct in a completely different way.
Expect live performances spilling out of breweries, creative studios and warehouse spaces, with the usually quiet industrial streets transformed into a lively music trail packed with local crowds, food, drinks and late-night energy.
“Dromana Weekender will bring live music, pop-up activations and creative moments to the industrial precinct in a fresh and exciting way,” said Councillor Patrick Binyon. “It’s a chance for audiences to experience Dromana differently while celebrating the Peninsula’s local music scene.”
The Peninsula LIVE initiative is presented by Mornington Peninsula Shire in partnership with Live Music Office, OneMusic Australia and APRA AMCOS, with support from Music Australia.
“Peninsula LIVE is about creating new opportunities for local artists while bringing communities together through live music,” said Acting Mayor Councillor Paul Pingiaro.
The project forms part of a broader push to strengthen the Mornington Peninsula’s live music scene while supporting local venues, artists and businesses through accessible community events.
Full program details, venue announcements and artist lineups are expected to be released soon. For more information:artsandculture.mornpen.vic.gov.au/dromanaweekender
