English rock legends Smokie are heading back to Australia next year, bringing their biggest ’70s hits and plenty of nostalgia with them on their Greatest Hits Tour.
The band will make their way around the country in February and March, with Melbourne fans getting their chance to see them live at the Palais Theatre on Friday 12 March. They’ll also be at Bendigo’s Ulumbarra Theatre on 10 March and Geelong’s Costa Hall on 13 March.

Smokie are best known for a string of enduring hits including ‘Living Next Door to Alice’, ‘Lay Back in the Arms of Someone’, ‘Needles and Pins’, ‘I’ll Meet You at Midnight’ and ‘Oh Carol’.
Formed in 1964, the group found international success in the ’70s and went on to achieve seven Australian Top 20 hits during their heyday. ‘Living Next Door to Alice’ became one of their biggest songs, selling more than 10 million copies worldwide.
The band has released more than 20 albums since forming, with the current lineup featuring lead vocalist and guitarist Pete Lincoln, lead guitarist and vocalist Mick McConnell, keyboardist Martin Bullard, drummer Steve Pinnell and bassist Luke Bullard.
For longtime fans, the tour promises a chance to revisit the songs that defined an era, while a new generation can experience Smokie’s enduring soft-rock classics live.
Presale tickets go on sale from 12pm local time on Wednesday 19 August, with tickets available to the general public from 12pm on Friday 21 August. More information here.
