Alternative rock favourites CAKE are heading back to Australia for the first time in 15 years, with the acclaimed Sacramento band set to perform at Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Thursday, March 18, 2027.
The long-awaited tour will feature An Evening with CAKE, with audiences treated to two full sets celebrating the band’s three-decade career. Fans can expect a setlist packed with signature songs including The Distance, Short Skirt/Long Jacket, Never There, Frank Sinatra and their distinctive take on I Will Survive.

“Although Australia is a distant continent for us, our memories of its wonderful audiences remain clear. We are delighted to have the opportunity to be part of that vibrant music scene once again,” said Vincent DiFiore.
Since forming in the early 1990s, CAKE has carved out a unique place in alternative music, blending rock, funk, country, folk and pop into a sound entirely their own. The band has remained fiercely independent throughout its career, continuing to write and record from its solar-powered Sacramento studio while championing environmental initiatives, including its long-running CAKE Forest project, which gives away native tree saplings at every headline show.
Their most recent album, Showroom of Compassion, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and the band is currently completing its ninth studio album, expected in 2027. The forthcoming release will feature Billionaire in Space, a new track already introduced during a Texas Public Radio session.
Melbourne fans will have the chance to experience one of America’s most distinctive live acts when the tour arrives at Festival Hall next March.
Early bird presale begins at 9am local time on Wednesday, July 8, with general public tickets on sale from 9am on Friday, July 10. Register for presale access and find more information at https://destroyalllines.com/tours/cake.
