British reggae legends UB40 will return to Australia in May 2027, celebrating almost 50 years of music with a national tour that includes a Melbourne performance at Margaret Court Arena.
Joined by special guests Soul II Soul at every show, the tour kicks off in Perth before heading to Adelaide, Melbourne on Thursday, 20 May, Sydney and Brisbane. The bands will then travel across the Tasman for a final performance in Auckland.
The tour will see UB40 celebrate five decades of chart-topping hits while also showcasing material from their forthcoming album, Unstoppable.
Known for classics including Food For Thought, Red Red Wine and their cover of (I Can’t Help) Falling in Love with You, UB40 have remained a favourite with Australian audiences, last touring the country in 2024.
Four surviving founding members, Robin Campbell, Norman Hassan, Earl Falconer and Jimmy Brown, continue to lead the band. They are joined by an expanded line-up featuring brass players Martin Meredith, Ian Thompson and Laurence Parry, Robin Campbell’s son Matt Campbell on backing vocals, Jahred Gordon on keyboards, MC Gilly G and lead vocalist Matt Doyle.
Robin Campbell said the band couldn’t wait to return to Australia and New Zealand.
“We are very excited to be coming back to Australia and New Zealand! This is the Unstoppable tour, because that’s exactly how we feel, after nearly 50 years of being a band.
“It is always special for us to reunite with so many fans and friends down under, and it will be a great celebration with Soul II Soul supporting.”
