Major Lazer will headline Melbourne’s New Year’s Eve celebrations at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, with three stages of live music, DJs and club sounds taking over the surrounding Kings Domain gardens on 31 December.
New Year’s at the Bowl returns for its second year following its 2025 debut, with the festival promising a full afternoon and night of music before continuing into the early hours of 2027.
Major Lazer will make their first Australian appearance since 2015, bringing hits including “Lean On”, “Cold Water” and “Light It Up” to the main stage.
The lineup also features Don West, DJ Seinfeld (Live), Flight Facilities (DJ), CC:DISCO!, Helena Hauff, Todd Terje (DJ), Close Counters, Miami Horror, Yung Singh, Adriana, Surusinghe, Maden Lane, Claire O’Brien and MZRIZK.
A special guest will be announced to lead the midnight countdown, while PBS FM’s Milo Eastwood will host and soundtrack The Bowl throughout the day.
The festival will be spread across three distinct stages, with The Bowl providing the main-stage experience, Garden focusing on live music, soul and disco, and the 360-degree Sundial moving into deeper club sounds.
Music will run until 1.30am, giving revellers plenty of time to dance their way into 2027.
Mike Ross, Promoter of New Year’s at the Bowl said last year’s event showed that the Bowl and surrounding gardens can work well for New Year’s Eve.
“This year we’re carrying forward the distinct identity of each of our three stages to keep New Year’s At The Bowl unmistakably Melbourne: welcoming, musically broad and full of character,” he said.
“The hope is it becomes a New Year’s Eve tradition – somewhere that people with different tastes can come together every year.”
Earlybird general admission tickets start at $169.90 plus fees, with presale tickets available from 12pm AEST on Monday 7 September until 12pm Tuesday 8 September. Any remaining tickets go on sale at 1pm AEST on Tuesday 8 September.
