Royel Otis are shifting gears from indie darlings to arena headliners, and Melbourne is first in line for the ride. The Sydney duo have announced their biggest Australian shows yet, with the ‘Meet Me In The Car’ tour pulling into Margaret Court Arena on Friday, 17 October.
It’s a full-circle moment for a band that, just last year, were packing out mid-size venues and now command stages that match their meteoric rise.

The tour follows the release of their sophomore album, ‘hickey’, due out on 22 August. Described as a bold evolution of their sun-soaked indie rock, the album features tracks like ‘moody’, ‘car’, and ‘say something’, capturing the thrill of youth and the chaos of growing up.
Their breakout Like A Version cover of ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ catapulted them to international recognition, reaching number one on the US Alternative Radio Chart and securing the number two spot on Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2024. This success was followed by their cover of The Cranberries’ ‘Linger’, which became their first Billboard Hot 100 hit and has garnered over 220 million global streams.
