Earth, Wind & Fire will return to Australia in April 2026, their first local performances since 2012. The visit begins with a headline set at Byron Bay Bluesfest on Easter Friday, followed by two exclusive sideshows for Sydney and Melbourne. Formed in Chicago in 1969 by Maurice White, the group reshaped the possibilities of Black popular music. Their fusion of soul, funk, R&B, jazz, pop and disco became a foundation for modern genres and positioned them as one of the most important musical forces of the twentieth century.
With more than 100 million albums sold, nine GRAMMY Awards including a Lifetime Achievement Award, 23 studio albums and a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, their global impact is undeniable.
Songs like Shining Star, September, Boogie Wonderland, Let’s Groove and Reasons remain cultural touchstones, sampled, covered and celebrated across generations. Their music continues to echo through pop, R&B, hip hop and dance, carried by a distinctive blend of joy, spiritual lift and technical brilliance that has defined their sound for over 50 years.
Their concerts have long been known for precision, colour and sheer spectacle. Original members Verdine White, Philip Bailey and Ralph Johnson still lead the lineup, supported by musicians committed to preserving the band’s signature energy and arrangements.
