A unique musical experience will be held at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl this summer to commemorate and pay tribute to one of the most iconic figures in the world of pop music, George Michael, who died aged 53 in 2016. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will be accompanied by some of the most electrifying voices in the nation as they perform some of George Michael’s greatest hits.
George Michael’s extraordinary legacy encompasses a remarkable music catalog spanning pop, soul, and disco, with more than 100 million records sold worldwide. Recent global recognition through the Netflix documentary “WHAM!” has reignited the world’s love for George Michael’s pure pop hedonism and unparalleled artistry.
For a singular night of celebration, Courtney Act, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, David Campbell, Emma Donovan, Brendan Maclean, Adam Thompson, Jade MacRae, Gary Pinto, and Carmen Smith will perform a 30-song tribute of George Michael’s greatest hits – including classics like Careless Whisper, Freedom, Father Figure, Faith and Praying For Time.
This is a one-night-only event on Saturday 9 December, and tickets are strictly limited.
