Melbourne’s long-anticipated Monopoly theme park finally has an opening date. Monopoly Dreams will open at Melbourne Central on 21 October 2023.
The huge theme park is only the second of its kind in the world – the first opened in Hong Kong in 2019. At 1700 square metres, the Melbourne offering is said to be twice the size of the one in Hong Kong.
The fully immersive experience operates across two different zones: Monopoly City and Monopoly Mansion – with 15 different attractions in total.
If you’re an enthusiast of gathering all the Utility properties on the game board, then you’ll certainly want to experience the Monopoly Railway in the 4D theater. Alternatively, you can generate power by pedaling a bike at the Electric Company, or engage in a projection game at Water Works.
Don’t forget about the Bank, where you can attempt to catch flying Monopoly money. The Monopoly money you earn can be redeemed for items at the Monopoly-themed café and merchandise store located on-site.
We’re not sure if Monopoly Dreams will end in members of the family trying to upend everything in anger and holding grudges for the rest of the day, but we’ll be watching with interest.
Tickets start at $38.50 and can be booked now.
