Easter 2024 is almost upon us. This year the Easter long weekend spans 29 March to 1 April. There’s a lot of family friendly activities happening in and around Melbourne as well as across the state of Victoria in the lead up to Easter, as well as over the long weekend.
We’ve rounded up a massive list of more than 60 events including Easter egg hunts, Easter Bunny encounters, festivals and other fun to be had this year.
Easter activities Friday 22 March 2024:
- The Lynbrook Easter Market is on from 3-8pm and will feature market stalls, great food, specialty retailers, free kids activities, live music, the Easter Bunny and more.
- Join in Mount Buninyong Winery’s Easter Egg Hunt at 10:30am.
Easter activities Saturday 23 March 2024:
- Take the whole family down to Croydon Main Street for a pre-Easter Funday filled with fun activities and sweet treats.
- Join in an egg-citing Easter Egg Hunt at Moonee Ponds Central.
- Brentwood Park Neighbourhood House in Berwick is hosting its first family Easter Egg hunt.
- There’s a free Easter Egg hunt at the Novotel Melbourne in Preston.
- The Annual Easter Extravaganza at Overnewton Castle in Keilor is on 23 March – a magical day for the family with a fabulous three tiered high tea, games and activities.
Easter activities Sunday 24 March 2024:
- The Apollo Parkways Easter Market is happening in Civic Drive, Greensborough.
- Hop into Eynesbury Homestead for an egg-citing Pre-Easter Sunday Kids Funday
- There’s a roving Easter bunny as well as an Easter egg hunt at the Preston Market.
- Enjoy an egg-stravaganza of a time at the Karingal Town Square Easter Egg Hunt. With over 15,000 delicious chocolate eggs from San Churro Clasico, plus a cameo from the Easter Bunny himself.
Easter activities happening over multiple days on the Easter long weekend
- The Dinner Plain Easter Festival is taking place in the high country from 29 March-1 April.
- The Bendigo Easter Festival is on 29 March – 1 April.
- The Falls Creek Easter Festival is on 29 Mar – 1 April
- The Berwick Easter Festival is on 29 March – 1 April
- The Campbell’s Wines Easter Picnic event is on 30-31 March in Rutherglen.
- Visit the historic town of Woods Point for their Easter Festival on 30-31 March.
- Easter at Mt Buller from 30 March – 1 April will feature a range of activities including mountain biking, bushwalks, trail running, the Mountain High Fun Run, the fabulous Buller Air Zone’s indoor rock climbing and trampolining, and the famous Easter Egg Hunt with over 10,000 eggs!
- Melbourne’s Easter Carnival 2024 at Whitehorse Civic Centre Precinct is happening 30-31 March with amusements, rides, showbags, an Easter egg hunt and more.
- The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery is having Easter egg hunts from 29-31 March.
- Head to The Big Goose in Mornington and join the fun with their Easter Egg Scramble. Collect as many plastic eggs as you can until the Easter Bunny rings the bell, then take your goods to the counting station. Every child who participates will take home a bag of mini Easter eggs. On top of that, there will be Golden Eggs hidden around the farm, and if you find one, you’ll win a Big Goose plush toy. The Easter activities will take place from March 29 to April 1.
- Enjoy a fun-filled weekend with egg hunts, wine hunts and the Easter Bunny at Austin’s Wine on the Bellarine Peninsula on 30-31 March.
Easter activities Friday 29 March 2024:
- The Bacchus Marsh Easter Fest is on at Maddingley Park, Bacchus Marsh.
- Join the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Westbrook in Truganina.
- The Kids Day Out on 29 March at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre as part of the Good Friday Appeal is full of activities for young and old including a fun fair, classic cars show, sporting zone and of course, the heart-warming Teddy Bear Hospital.
Easter activities Saturday 30 March 2024:
- Get ready to hop around and search for hidden treasures at the Bellarine Estate Winery’s Easter egg hunt.
- Visit Fairfield Village from 10am – 2pm to meet the roving Easter Bunny who will be handing out Easter Eggs to children.
- Join in the Easter egg hunt at Monty Village in Were St Montmorency
- The annual Blackwood Wood Chop and Easter Carnival is on 30 March.
- There’s an Easter Egg hunt at Garden of Hope in Mildura.
- The Rushworth Easter Heritage Festival is on 30 March.
- The Mornington Tourist Railway’ Easter Egg-spress train is running with the Easter Bunny on board.
- The Diamond Creek Eggstravagant Easter Egg Hunt and Family Picnic is on 30 March.
- More than 30,000 premium Chocolatier eggs are up for grabs at the Great Luna Park Easter Egg Hunt
- There’s an Easter egg hunt at Bottega 188 in Mt Eliza.
- Cosmic Eggstravaganza: A Family Easter Event at the Ballarat Municipal Observatory and Museum.
- Integra and Power FM Easter Egg Hunt at Grange Park, Lucas.
- The Easter Bunny and helper will be appearing in locations including shopping precincts in Melton South, Melton Town Centre, Diggers Rest and Caroline Springs delighting children and egg lovers with photo opportunities and free giveaways.
- The Easter Bunny will make a very special appearance at the Queen Victoria Market. Bring the kids along, snap a photo with the Easter Bunny and collect a few eggs.
- Join in the kids Easter Egg hunt at Marnong Estate Winery in Mickleham.
- Hop into Easter fun at the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Royal Park Golf Course in Parkville.
- Join in a hopping good time at the inaugural Easter Scavenger Hunt and Fair at Sandhurst Oval.
- There are Easter activities at Coburg Central including an Easter Egg hunt and face painting.
- There’s a massive Easter Egg hunt at Funfields with more than 50,000 Cadbury chocolate eggs to be found.
Easter activities Sunday 31 March 2024:
- The Mornington Tourist Railway’ Easter Egg-spress train is running with the Easter Bunny on board.
- More than 30,000 premium Chocolatier eggs are up for grabs at the Great Luna Park Easter Egg Hunt
- Hop into the Easter spirit at Boneo Discovery Park for an egg-stravaganza of fun.
- Take part in a great day out for the whole family and experience the Pirate Life aboard Polly Woodside – all while supporting the Good Friday Appeal.
- The Easter Bunny will make a very special appearance at the Queen Victoria Market. Bring the kids along, snap a photo with the Easter Bunny and collect a few eggs.
- The annual Easter egg hunt is coming back to Farm Vigano at South Morang.
- Tokar Estate in Coldstream will have fun for the whole family with an Easter egg hunt and a petting zoo.
- The Elements Mini Golf Easter Egg Hunt is happening in Werribee South.
- The annual Easter Egg Hunt is on at the Mornington Racecourse with thousands of delicious Easter Eggs hidden across the front lawn waiting to be found.
- Grab the whole family and be a part of the annual Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn at Rare Hare in Merricks North, with coffee and hot cross buns.
- Join in the kids Easter Egg hunt at Marnong Estate Winery in Mickleham.
- Take part in the South Melbourne Market’s annual Easter Egg hunt with ticket proceeds going to the Good Friday Appeal.
- Make your way to Chiltern for a special Easter Egg hunt at Pepper’s Run Flower Farm.
