A new all-day dining spot and event venue focused on modern Australian cuisine has opened at the Burwood Brickworks. Rombe is a rustic rooftop restaurant designed to bring people together, offering a memorable culinary experience.
Rombe takes over the space formerly occupied by Acre, which closed in late 2022. The rooftop now hosts two spaces: Rombe, the all-day restaurant, and the Glass House for functions. Rombe caters to morning risers, diners, and anyone seeking an elevated experience above the bustling Burwood Brickworks.
Rombe’s dining room is filled with natural light and offers views of the rooftop garden and Dandenong Ranges. Outdoor seating provides an immersive experience. The menu features locally sourced, seasonal ingredients prepared using modern Australian techniques by Head Chef Jerry Yi.
Breakfast includes classics and seasonal dishes like ricotta hotcakes and salmon pastrami. Lunch options range from salads to larger meals like tuna spaghetti and grilled red snapper. Desserts are daily-made cakes. There’s also a kid’s menu available.
With indoor and outdoor seating, Rombe is ideal for brunch or lunch with family and friends. It can also host private events with a capacity of 120 seated or 300 standing.
Adjacent to Rombe is The Glass House, offering neutral decor and views of the Dandenong Ranges for various events.
Rombe and The Glass House can accommodate different types of events. Menu packages are available for sit-down events up to 250 guests, and cocktail soirées for up to 350 guests.
Access to the rooftop is via elevator or stairs. Rombe is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch, with dinner service starting late-April. Reservations can be made on their website.
