Get ready for an unforgettable Easter weekend as the Bendigo Easter Festival returns from 18 to 21 April 2025, bringing spectacular parades, cultural performances, and family-friendly fun to the heart of Bendigo.
One of Australia’s longest-running community events, this year’s festival promises to be bigger and better, celebrating Bendigo’s rich heritage and vibrant spirit.
Bendigo Mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf expressed her pride in the festival, saying, “The Bendigo Easter Festival is a showcase of living history, cultural performances, and fun attractions for all ages.”
‘This year, we’re honouring the legacy of Cr Rod Fyffe OAM, a beloved community leader, by naming the Easter Saturday night torchlight parade in his memory.” The La Trobe University Torchlight Procession – Commemorating the service of Rod Fyffe OAM will light up the night, followed by a stunning fireworks display at Rosalind Park.
Other festival highlights include the Awakening of the Dragon, a vibrant celebration of lion and dragon dances, and the Sherridon Homes Gala Parade on Easter Sunday, featuring the majestic Dai Gum Loong dragon and stunning street floats.
Families can enjoy the Vision Australia Easter Egg Hunt, with 85,000 eggs hidden in Rosalind Park, and explore the Hidden Creature Gallery, a magical digital art experience by Arena Theatre Company.
The festival also features live music, roving performers, craft workshops, and the lively Carnival Central with rides and sideshow alley. Community markets, including the Rotary Club Market and Moonlight Easter Market, will offer handmade treasures and tasty treats.
“It takes a community to build a festival like ours,” Cr Metcalf said, thanking sponsors, volunteers, and community groups. “We’re still seeking more volunteers—if you’re over 15 and have four hours to spare, join us for this unique experience.”
