Prepare to witness beloved singer-songwriter Diesel like never before as he embarks on an intimate, audience-driven tour this August through November. The BY REQUEST tour will put fans in the driver’s seat, allowing them to shape each night’s setlist with career-spanning hits, deep cuts, and eclectic covers from Diesel’s 17-album catalogue.
Fresh off his acclaimed Bootleg Melancholy album tour, Diesel will bring this one-of-a-kind experience to regional venues across Australia, including Castlemaine, Healesville and Barwon Heads.
“With 17 albums, it’s understandable finding deep crevices where some potentially loved songs lay dormant,” Diesel says.
“BY REQUEST is an opportunity for my audience to tell me what they want to hear, which I’ve always found really fascinating. It’s also rare that I get to connect with a song and a particular listener through the process of making a request—that direct contact can be inspiring during a performance.”
The solo tour promises a stripped-back, personal experience, with each show tailored to the crowd’s choices—ensuring no two nights will be the same. From his 1989 debut Johnny Diesel & The Injectors to 2023’s Bootleg Melancholy, fans can expect a journey through Diesel’s storied career, blending roots rock, blues, and soul.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, 30 May at 9am local time via dieselmusic.com.au, with a presale starting Thursday, 29 May at 10am.
