Lime is rolling out new designated parking bays across the City of Port Phillip and marking the moment with a community giveaway designed to teach riders how to “park like a pro.”
The Ride & Refuel: Park Like a Pro event kicks off on Thursday 18 September at 88 Acland Street, St Kilda.
From 7:30am to 10:30am, riders who finish their trip in a designated bay and upload their end-of-trip photo correctly can swing by for a complimentary smoothie, matcha latte or green juice. Free rides will also be on offer through Lime’s First Ride Academy, giving new users a chance to learn the basics of safe scooting.
Lime’s Head of APAC William Peters said the initiative is about rewarding simple good habits. “Through initiatives like Ride & Refuel, we’re rewarding good habits and celebrating the investment in new parking infrastructure in the City of Port Phillip,” he said.
“Responsible parking is at the heart of safe and sustainable micromobility. We’re proud to lead the way in shaping a tidier, more accessible Melbourne. By working together with local councils and our riders, we can create streets that are safer, easier to navigate and more enjoyable for the entire community.”
The activation comes as Lime continues its push for cleaner and more organised streetscapes across Melbourne. The company says the new bays will make parking easier, reduce clutter on footpaths and help micromobility work better for everyone.
Event details: Thursday 18 September, 7:30am–10:30am at 88 Acland Street, St Kilda. Free drinks, snacks and rides for riders who park like a pro.
