There’s a particular kind of energy that only Regurgitator can generate, and at Croxton Park Hotel in Thornbury on 11 April 2026, they delivered it in full. Playing as part of their JUKEBOXXIN’ tour, the Brisbane trio leaned into a set built on decades of material, jumping between eras and styles with the kind of confidence that comes from doing things their own way for more than 30 years.
From the moment the ‘Gurge hit the stage, the room was completely locked in. The Croxton isn’t a huge venue, which worked completely in the band’s favour. It turned the show into something closer to a packed house party than a standard gig, with the crowd pressed in and fully along for the ride.

The setlist played like a greatest hits mixtape. Tracks like Polyester Girl, !(The Song Formerly Known As), I Like Your Old Stuff Better Than Your New Stuff, Black Bugs, Blubber Boy and Kung Foo Sing landed exactly where they should, drawing loud, instant reactions. There was no real downtime either. Songs came quick, often bleeding into each other, keeping the momentum high.

Frontman Quan Yeomans still has that loose, unpredictable presence, shifting between vocals and guitar without ever feeling static. Clad originally in double acid wash denim, a few songs in Yeomans removed his jacket to reveal a t-shirt with a pornographic image of Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump emblazoned with the words “REGURGITATOR FUCKS ALMOST AS HARD!!!”

Alongside him, Ben Ely kept things driving, locking in the rhythm while adding his own bursts of chaos. It’s a dynamic that hasn’t lost its edge – no matter how old these guys get they deliver pure Gen X energy.
On this tour they were joined by Sarah Lim on the keytar, bass and keyboards adding dramatic flair with her hair blowing wildly courtesy of a well-positioned fan att the front of the stage.

Regurgitator have always sat slightly outside genre lines, and live, that becomes their biggest strength. One minute it’s punk, the next it’s electronic, then something closer to pop, hip hop and rap. It works seamlessly and the fans love it.

The JUKEBOXXIN’ concept, built around cycling through their catalogue, suits them perfectly. It taps into nostalgia without feeling stuck in it, giving long-time fans what they came for while still feeling alive in the moment and shows that Regurgitator are still one of the most fun, unpredictable live acts you can catch in a room like this.
