Soul icon Macy Gray is heading back to Australia this spring, announcing an encore run of shows after wowing crowds across the country on her sold-out 2024 tour celebrating 25 years of her debut album On How Life Is.
The Grammy Award-winning singer will return to every city she sold out last year while also adding a stack of new regional destinations to the tour schedule.
Fans can expect a hit-filled setlist featuring favourites including ‘I Try’, ‘Still’, ‘Sweet Baby’ and ‘The Letter’, alongside new material from her upcoming album The Trouble with the Truth, including her cover of Right Said Fred’s ‘I’m Too Sexy’.
“Australia! The band and I have always had a ball ‘down under’ and we can’t wait to see you all again! This time, I’m heading to places I’ve never been before and will get to see so much more of your beautiful country,” says Gray.
“We’re going to be performing all the songs you want to hear, plus a few from my new album – The Trouble with the Truth. Australia will be the first audiences to hear tracks from the new album live so get your dancing shoes ready and come along and party with us at a show near you!”
Gray’s The Encore Tour begins on Friday 11 September at Hamer Hall in Melbourne before travelling through Adelaide, Shepparton, Albury, Hobart, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane and more, wrapping up at Shoal Bay Country Club on Sunday 11 October.
With more than 25 million records sold worldwide, two BRIT Awards and 10 studio albums to her name, Gray remains one of the most distinctive voices in soul and R&B. Her breakthrough album On How Life Is topped the ARIA Albums Chart in Australia and helped cement ‘I Try’ as one of the defining songs of the era.
