A new twist on a timeless tale is landing in Melbourne this June as OZ The Cirque Experience brings a high-flying, all-ages spectacle to the Athenaeum Theatre.
The Australian tour introduces a full professional cast, led by Sam Hamilton as The Wizard, Amy McCann as Dorothy, Hannah Gardiner as Glinda and Grace Laing stepping into the role of the Wicked Witch. They are joined by Paige Dorrity as Scarecrow, Dan Price as Tin Man, Louis Green as Lion, Tina Cano as Mouse and Luke Blaze as The Illusionist, alongside ensemble performers Jeanette Jordan, Tombé Harvey, Sergio Reyes and Charlotte Sligar.

Reimagining the classic story through a contemporary lens, the production blends circus arts, aerial performance, live vocals and theatrical staging to create a fast-moving journey through a reworked Land of Oz.
Audiences can expect a sensory-heavy experience where acrobatics meet storytelling, bringing a modern edge to familiar characters while still holding onto the heart of the original tale.
From flying sequences to gravity-defying stunts, OZ The Cirque Experience leans into spectacle while keeping the narrative accessible for families, theatre lovers and anyone chasing a bit of escapism.

Whether you are following the yellow brick road for courage, heart or brains, the production invites audiences to step into a world built on wonder and imagination, with a playful reworking designed to surprise even those who know the story by heart.
Presented by award-winning producers, the show promises a bold reimagining of Oz that pushes beyond traditional stage boundaries.
Tickets are now on sale and demand is already building ahead of the Melbourne run.
OZ The Cirque Experience will play the Athenaeum Theatre from 12 to 14 June 2026. For tickets and more information visit https://ozcirque.com
