Scottish alternative rock favourites Del Amitri are returning to Australia and New Zealand in 2027, bringing their Past to Present: Four Decades of Their Greatest Hits tour to fans across the region.
The tour will celebrate the band’s remarkable career, which has seen them sell more than six million albums worldwide and build a loyal following across generations. Audiences can expect a setlist spanning Del Amitri’s seven studio albums, featuring some of their most recognisable songs including Always The Last To Know, Roll To Me, Tell Her This and Nothing Ever Happens.
The Australian leg of the tour will begin in Perth before travelling nationally, with Melbourne fans able to catch the band at the Palais Theatre on Friday 26 February. The run will also include shows in Adelaide, Hobart, Brisbane and Sydney before heading across the Tasman for performances in Wellington and Auckland.
Formed in Glasgow in 1980 by Justin Currie, Del Amitri began building their reputation in Scotland before guitarist Iain Harvie joined the band in 1982, helping shape the sound that would eventually take them around the world.
The group achieved a major breakthrough with their 1989 album Waking Hours, which featured the much-loved tracks Nothing Ever Happens and Kiss This Thing Goodbye. Their success continued throughout the 1990s with hits including Always the Last to Know and their biggest US single Roll To Me.
After entering a hiatus in the early 2000s, Del Amitri officially reunited in 2018 and have since returned to stages around the globe, performing to sold-out audiences while continuing to create new music.
The band is currently working on their eighth studio album, expected to arrive later this year.
