Dinosaur fans are in for a prehistoric treat, with the Olivier Award-winning Dinosaur World Live roaring back into Australia for a summer tour that will bring remarkably lifelike dinosaurs to Melbourne.
The interactive family show will visit Melbourne, Canberra, Wollongong, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane and Perth from December 2026 to January 2027, giving young audiences the chance to see some of the world’s most famous prehistoric creatures up close.
Australian producer Andrew Kay said Dinosaur World Live offered families an experience that could not be replicated on a screen.
“Dinosaurs have this extraordinary ability to capture children’s imaginations, and there is something pretty special about watching their faces when these incredible creatures come to life right in front of them,” Mr Kay said.
“Dinosaur World Live is not just great fun, but it’s also wonderfully clever theatre. The puppetry is extraordinary.”
The 55-minute show takes audiences on a prehistoric adventure with intrepid explorer Miranda, as she journeys through a world filled with dinosaurs.
Young explorers will encounter a Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Giraffatitan, Microraptor and Segnosaurus, all brought to life using spectacular puppetry created by Max Humphries.
Designed to entertain while sparking curiosity about the creatures that once roamed the Earth, the show is recommended for children aged three and over.
Dinosaur World Live will make its Melbourne debut at the Comedy Theatre from 30 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, before moving to The Round at Nunawading from 5 to 6 January 2027. Tickets are available here.
