Acclaimed Australian rock band, Birds of Tokyo, have announced a new tour – The Heartbreakers Bar Tour – that will bring them to The Forum in Melbourne in November.
Forming in 2004 in Perth, band is known for its compelling blend of alternative rock and emotional lyricism, which has garnered a strong fanbase in Australia and beyond.
The lineup includes Ian Kenny (vocals), Adam Spark (guitar), Adam Weston (drums), Glenn Sarangapany (keys), and Ian Berney (bass). Their music often explores themes of personal struggle, love, and resilience, resonating deeply with listeners.
The band gained widespread attention with their third album, Birds of Tokyo (2010), which featured hits like “Plans” and “Wild at Heart.” Their subsequent albums, such as March Fires (2013) and Human Design (2020), further solidified their reputation as one of Australia’s leading rock acts. Birds of Tokyo’s evocative soundscapes and introspective lyrics have made them a staple in the Australian music scene.
The Heartbreakers Bar Tour is their first headline tour since before the COVID-19 pandemic. While they have played live as support for artists like Incubus and Keith Urban, this is their first official headline tour for several years.
