Cricket fans have longer to relive the extraordinary career of Shane Warne, with the WARNE: Treasures of a Legend exhibition at the Australian Sports Museum now extended until March 2027.
Originally due to close next month, the popular exhibition will remain on display for another seven months, allowing visitors to experience the collection throughout the 2026/27 summer of cricket and into one of the sport’s biggest events at the MCG.
Featuring 48 treasured items from Warne’s remarkable career, the exhibition offers a rare look at the memorabilia behind one of Australia’s greatest sporting icons.
Among the standout pieces are the famous Gatting Ball, his 1999 Cricket World Cup winners medal, the ball from his 700th Test wicket, worn Test shirts and boots, and the floppy white hat that became synonymous with the legendary leg-spinner.
The collection highlights both Warne’s achievements on the field and the personality that made him one of cricket’s most recognisable and celebrated figures around the world.
The extension also means visitors travelling to Melbourne for the historic 150th Anniversary Test Match at the MCG in March 2027 will be able to include the exhibition in their visit, seeing many of Warne’s most iconic career items just metres from the ground where he created so many unforgettable memories.
The exhibition has already proved a major drawcard since opening, helping make December 2025 the busiest tourism month at the MCG since 2016.
WARNE: Treasures of a Legend is open daily from 10am to 5pm at the Australian Sports Museum, Gate 3, Melbourne Cricket Ground. Entry is included with a general admission ticket to the museum, with tickets available online or at the venue.
