Ne-Yo headed to Australia in September
Three time Grammy Award-winning hitmaker Ne-Yo has announced the Australia and New Zealand leg of his globally successful Champagne & Roses Tour. He will be joined by very special guest Lloyd. The Champagne & Roses Tour kicks off on September 26 at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
Blockbuster Yayoi Kusama exhibition announced for NGV
In December 2024, the National Gallery of Victoria celebrates the illustrious career of iconic contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama with a world-premiere blockbuster exhibition spanning her eight-decade practice, including the global unveiling of the artist’s most recent immersive infinity mirror room work.
Macy Gray announces 25th anniversary tour
Macy Gary has announced a tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her seminal debut album, 1999’s On How Life Is. She’s bringing it to Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on 7 July.
Kat Stewart to star in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf at the Comedy Theatre
The critically acclaimed Red Stitch production of Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? starring Kat Stewart and directed by Sarah Goodes, has secured an historic and strictly limited 3-week mainstage commercial season at the Comedy Theatre in June 2024.
Greta Van Fleet headed down under in August
Grammy Award Winning U.S. Rock act Greta van Fleet are set to make their highly anticipated return to Australian and New Zealand shores this August for the first time since 2019 – including a gig at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena.
Stand up comedian and podcast host Em Rusciano coming to Melbourne and Ballarat
Em Rusciano is back with a brand-new live experience and her first big national tour since her wildly successful ‘Rage and Rainbows’ show in 2019, and look yes, she is still angry, but now she knows why. She’s bringing the show to Ballarat and Melbourne this August.
There’s an immersive Bridgerton Queens Ball experience coming next month
Fans of the hit Netflix show can now get on the waitlist for The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience – an immersive Bridgerton party with period costumes and stunning decor that will transport you to the English Regency era, coming to Melbourne in May.
Cheer on Australia’s basketball heroes at an international series in Melbourne before the Olympic Games
Victorians the chance to cheer on their hometown basketball heroes before the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with all six of Australia’s national basketball teams bound for Melbourne in a history-making series – Ford BALLIN’24 – featuring Australia’s top teams against China and Japan at John Cain Arena from 2 – 5 July 2024.

- The Immigration Museum will be hosting Notre-Dame de Paris, the Augmented Exhibition – opening on 5 December 2024 – just days before the restored cathedral reopens in Paris on 8 December for the first time since the 2019 fire.
- Rob Schneider, the popular American comedian and actor, is set to bring his comedic charm to the Athenaeum Melbourne in June.
- Swatch invites guests into its new flagship store, located at 260 Collins Street, in the heart of Melbourne, to take a journey through a pop-up immersive maze installation ‘A Maze’ from 19 April to 26 April between the hours of 11am –3pm daily for one week only.
- Beloved author, comedian and artist Ahn Do has announced he’s bringing his Happiest Refugee stage show back to Melbourne by popular demand. He’ll be on stage at the Athenaeum Theatre on Tuesday 20 August 2024.
- Australia’s favourite absurdist sketch group, Aunty Donna, are performing a one-off show at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne on Tuesday 7 May that will be filmed for an upcoming comedy TV special.
- Bookings are now open for Club Chin Chin Geelong which opens on 4 May.
- Experience the vibrant flavours and sounds of the Middle East at Grazeland’s Middle Eastern Celebration on Saturday April 27 from 7.30pm with an unforgettable evening filled with mouth-watering cuisine and live entertainment.
- Seasoned performers Deborah Conway and Darren Coggan, together with a stellar line up of Australia’s finest musicians, will celebrate the enduring friendship and musical collaboration of two the most successful singer/songwriters of their generation – Carole King and James Taylor at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Saturday 2 August 2024.
- Diamond-certified Venezuelan artist and producer, Danny Ocean, has announced his highly-anticipated 2024 debut tour of Australia. The Reflexa Tour will see the reggaetón star perform a headline show at Festival Hall in Melbourne on Friday 19 July.
- The 109th anniversary of the landing of ANZAC troops at Gallipoli will be commemorated through a free projection art program at Geelong’s City Hall starting from 4am on ANZAC Day, Thursday 25 April. The imagery will run from dusk until 11pm every night, ending on Sunday 28 April.
- Korea Festival 2024, the biggest Korean cultural event in Melbourne is returning to Fed Square for two days on 10-11 May.
- Watch the Grand Final of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest live from the Malmö Arena in Sweden on the big screen at Lido Cinemas in Hawthorn on Sunday 12 May at 5am.
- Mums skate free at Sk8house on MOTHER’S DAY – Sunday 12 May 2024, 11AM to 1PM and 2PM to 5PM.
- The Castlemaine Art Museum Art Book Fair returns from 1-2 June 2024 as part of the Melbourne Art Book Fair. CAM will showcase work by central Victorian artists, writers and publishers, alongside a series of special events.
- 40 Up on Fire is a brand new burlesque competition aimed at showcasing some of the best burlesque performers aged 40 and over in a fun, inclusive and supportive environment. It’s happening at the Brunswick Ballroom on Saturday 6 July.
- On Saturday 4 May, Free Comic Book Day is back at All Star Comics in Queen Street Melbourne. This a worldwide event designed to bring comics and comic book stores into the forefront of the public eye in the best way possible, by giving away thousands, upon thousands of free comics.
- Embark on an intergalactic journey like no other at iceHQ’s Star Wars themed Ice Skating Night in Reservoir on 4 May.
- There’s a pop-up Mother’s Day Market in Greensborough from 11am – 3pm on Saturday 11 May.
- Rock legend Jack Jones joins the might of the Southern Cross Symphony, a killer rock band, three powerhouse vocalists, and a 20-person strong youth choir, faithfully re-igniting the awe-inspiring sound of Pink Floyd in all its glory at Hamer Hall on 6 September.
- Hasbro Inc. has announced a special cinema experience to celebrate four decades of the Transformers franchise hitting the big screen for a limited time only in May. Til All Are One: Transformers 40th Anniversary Event will be at select cinemas in Australia on 15. 18 and 19 May.

- The Hawker 88 Night Market will return to the iconic Queen Vic Market sheds for an exclusive five-week season until 8 May showcasing traditional Asian street eats, quirky general merchandise and specially themed weekly entertainment.

- Following a successful tour in the USA and UK, it’s Melbourne’s turn get ready for the Harry Potter: Forbidden Forest adventure on the Mornington Peninsula until 19 May when The Briars Community Forest in Mount Martha will turn into a legit dark and magical forest.
- Murder, greed, corruption, exploitation, adultery, treachery… and All That Jazz… so begins the international multi-award-winning musical, Chicago. Catch it at Her Majesty’s Theatre until 26 May.
- The Science Gallery at the University of Melbourne’s exhibition – NOT NATURAL – explores our increasing ability to control nature and the plethora of possibilities and ethical dilemmas that come with that power. Running until 29 June.
- The Broadway sensation Wicked looks at what happened in the Land of Oz… but from a different angle. See it at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre until 30 June.
- Victoria’s zoos are being transformed into prehistoric playgrounds with Zoos Victoria’s new Dinos at the Zoo immersive experience providing an unforgettable journey back in time until 14 July.
- Melbourne Museum will showcase some of Victoria’s most outstanding VCE and VCE VET design and technology students withTop Designs returns for 2024. The showcase runs until 14 July.
- Celebrating culture, nostalgia, and the pursuit of happiness, the Immigration Museum’s expansive exhibition Joy features seven Victorian-based artists showcasing their interpretations of joy through immersive installations, until 29 August.
- Visited by more than 10 million people around the world and earning a spot on CNN’s “must-see” list, The Art of the Brick is running until 31 August at the Melbourne Showgrounds. This brand new, immersive version of Nathan Sawaya’s iconic LEGO art exhibit features original collections, over 100 sculptures made from more than 1 million bricks, a LEGO safari, moving installations, 360 degree projections, and much more.
